The dry winter and early spring coupled with the wet weather we are currently experiencing can lead to high risk of white mold (Sclerotinia minor) in peanuts. Sumter county peanut growers are suggested to assess their peanut disease risk to determine their spray schedule to control white mold, leaf spot (Cercosporidium personatum), and other peanut disease prevalent in Florida.
Please contact Dr. Cami Esmel at (352) 793-2728 x 234 or cami13@ufl.edu for the 2012 Peanut Disease Risk Index for spray scheduling.
