A trip to Wally World led to a couple of interesting discoveries.
You can get sugar-free imitation honey and no-calorie “peanut spread.”
The Sugar-Free Imitation Honey is from HoneyTree in Onsted, Missouri. The company makes sugar-free products especially for folks who can’t (or shouldn’t) have sugar but want a similar taste and mouth feel. The same outfit makes regular honey and sugar products, too. Ingredients include maltilol syrup, natural and artificial flavor, Acesulfame K, malic acid.
It gets good reviews online. www.honeytreehoney.com.
Then there is Walden Farms “Calorie Free Whipped Peanut Spread.”
The ingredients include: triple filtered purified water, vegetable fiber, sea salt, corn starch, xanthan gum (thickener made from vegetables), natural fresh roasted peanut flavor, natural peanut extract, and a few other bits and pieces including sucralose and colors.
The company makes no-calorie syrups, dips for fruit, fruit spreads (like jams), whipped peanut spread (including cinnamon-raisin and chocolate), mayo, veggie and chip dips, BBQ sauces, salad dressings and pasta sauces.
They are not something you would eat to get nutrition, but they are better than nothing for folks who need them. www.waldenfarms.com.
