Tallahassee, FL – Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam announced today free subscriptions to Florida’s Do Not Call program, which protects Floridians from unsolicited phone calls. Florida residents who do not wish to receive sales calls may subscribe residential, mobile or paging device telephone numbers to the Florida Do Not Call program.

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) recently announced that it is dedicating the month of April to sharing information about the threat that invasive plant pests, diseases and harmful weeds pose to America's fruits, vegetables, trees, and other plants—and how the public can help prevent their spread. APHIS works each day to promote U.S. agricultural health and safeguard the nation's agriculture, fishing and forestry industries.

Florida’s Energy Bill, HB 7117, Becomes Law ~

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services issued the following statement by Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam upon learning HB 7117 will become law.

 

Tallahassee, FL (April 13, 2012) – The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services released today the “Impact of Proposed Energy Tax Legislation for Florida,” an independent economic analysis of Florida’s Energy Bill, HB 7117.

WASHINGTON – Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced the addition of 13 biobased product categories which are eligible for Federal procurement preference. Now more than 1,500 additional biobased products will be offered for preferred purchasing consideration by all Federal government agencies and contractors. The final rule was published in the April 4 Federal Register.
